Last night Martin and I went to see KIDS IN THE HALL in Clearwater Florida. The humor was superb and it was great to see true comedy professionals put on such a hilarious show. Dave, Mark, Scott, Bruce and Kevin unleashed new material that was well crafted and packed quite a punch. The one thing that I always appreciated about the Kids was the fact that each of their sketches has an actual ending. Saturday Night Live could learn a thing or two from these boys about theme, structure and closing out a short. So how do these guys translate from TV to stage? Very well considering the stage (Rivoli Theater in Canada) is where they started. The presentation utilized a projector and videos that doubled as both set and film screen for new shorts . The most amazing thing about the performance was that you could see they were genuinely having fun. The occassional laughter from one of the Kids wasn't distracting but an affirmation that what we were watching was truly funny. This is not distilled corporate BS comedy like TWO AND A HALF MEN. While watching them perform you realize that The KIDS IN THE HALL don't give a crap about demographic studies and test marketing (only if they have to). The boys simply write what they think is funny. If you like it, you like it. If you don't like it, then perhaps Larry the Cable Guy is more your speed. From the motivational "Money Momentum" guys, to ripping on Coldplay, to the chicken lady and beyond, this event was well worth the money. |

This just in. All Damage Control CD's and DVD's will soon be available on Amazon.com - All things are in place so give it about 3-4 weeks. Rude, exciting and provocative comedy in a neat to eat package that you can buy on the internet. What more could you ask for? (don't answer that). |

New exciting things in store for Damage Control. New shorts, new TV shows and two new CD's are slated for the rest of 2008. No Show #1 and #2 finally have a potential DVD distribution deal. As they say in the biz though, nothing is for sure until the ink is dry. Stay tuned and all will be revealed shortly. |
